Dan Walsh is a BBC Folk Award nominated banjo player, guitarist and singer who tours worldwide both solo and as a member of the award winning Urban Folk Quartet. He has also appeared on stage or in the studio with Imelda May, Joss Stone, the Levellers and Seth Lakeman among others. His banjo playing has learned him accolades including being described as ‘second to none in the UK’ by R2 magazine and he is the only non-American to be asked to teach and perform at the leading banjo camp in the USA.
Alongside his performing and recording, Dan has always retained a passion for teaching and outreach work and for eight years worked for the prestigious nationwide Live Music Now scheme with projects as diverse as performances in care homes, leading a community choir, a songwriting project in Cardiff with children with behavioural difficulties and even a performance with 1,000 school children at Wembley Arena! He is also an experienced Music Leader and banjo teacher.
