Upbeat Families is a FREE fun Music and Movement project for military families (supporting parents/carers and their children aged 0-5 years old). As a parent/carer you can bring your little-one along for a fun hour of music making and movement with our highly qualified Early Years Music and Dance practitioners. Each session is planned to support your child’s musical, physical and social development but most importantly, it is fun!
Upbeat Families is currently supporting Armed Forces families within West Midlands, and you can find us over at the Stafford’s Beacon Barracks, Whittington Barracks and Bramcote Barracks.
Upbeat Families is a great way to integrate into the local community, as families living close to barracks are invited to attend too. Sessions have enabled families to be engaged, music and songs breaking down barriers to engagement where other services have struggled.
As part of the weekly sessions run by Make Some Noise, the team has produced a set of short films for families to enjoy Upbeat fun within the home. Enjoy each song with your child and follow the actions for the full Upbeat fun time! This is perfect for any parents/carers who might be away but are longing to connect with their family.
The sessions are free due to funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund and the ABF Soldiers Charity, but we have also been supported by the Royal British Legion in the past to ensure this vital service never ends.
